The most secure data is the data that is never collected. At Bill & Tip, all calculations are performed entirely within your web browser (client-side execution).

When you enter a bill amount, tax percentage, tip increment, or group split count, that mathematical data stays strictly local to your device. We do not transmit, analyze, store, or share your transaction calculations. Your receipt math remains entirely your business.

2. Cookies and Storage

We do not use invasive tracking cookies, marketing beacons, or cross-site tracking profiles.

We may use browser localStorage or session variables solely to improve your user experience, such as remembering your preferred tax preset, tip percentage, or theme setting. This storage is completely local to your device, and you can clear it at any time through your browser's standard settings.

3. Technical Server Logging & CDN

Like almost all modern websites, our static page assets are delivered via high-performance content delivery networks (CDNs) and cloud hosting platforms (such as Cloudflare).

These services process basic technical metadata (such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, and request timestamp) solely to serve files efficiently, mitigate spam or DDoS attacks, and gather aggregated, non-identifying traffic statistics. This technical logging contains no personal data and is never cross-referenced with your calculations.

4. Advertising and Third-Party Links

To keep Bill & Tip free and accessible to everyone, we may display unobtrusive advertising placements. These ads read as structured, clearly labeled elements of the page and never block your main calculation inputs.

We do not share any calculator inputs with ad networks. Third-party ad providers may collect anonymous, standardized identifiers to gauge ad effectiveness, governed strictly by their respective privacy policies.

5. Support Communication

If you choose to contact us directly via email at support@billandtip.com, we will only use your email address and any details provided in your message to reply to your question, bug report, or feature request. We will never sell, rent, or distribute your email address to mailing lists or third parties.
